Pilates Clothes

In order to do Pilates the correct way, you will need Pilates clothes to help you through your workout. You should consider the following:

• Choose Pilates clothes that are made up of a combination of cotton, nylon, and spandex. The cotton is light, so it will be comfortable and the nylon and spandex will allow you to move because they are flexible materials.

• Select clothing which will allow your skin to breath. Pilates is an exercise that will make you work up a sweat. Unless your Pilates clothes are breathable, there is a good chance you will get soaked and not be able to work out properly.

• Your Pilates clothes should be tight, but not restrictive. The clothes need to fit you well because loose clothes can get in the way when you are exercising. Also, loose-fitting clothing will not allow your instructor to see how well your bones are aligned.

• There are some other clothing rules associated with Pilates. You should keep your hair tied back if you have long hair, you should leave jewelry at home and you should avoid perfumes and deodorants. Strong smells could trigger allergies in other class members and long jewelry or hair could get in the way if you are doing machine exercises.

• If you are new to Pilates, you may not know much about Pilates clothes makers. You may just want to ask experienced class members or your instructor about what name brands they wear to do Pilates. The main desk in the gym may sell some of the clothing there.
