Pilates Reformer

A Pilates reformer is an important piece of equipment for those people who want to do Pilates in an effort to overcome injuries that they may have had. There are different types of reformers that a person can purchase. The type a person purchases may depend on where he or she plans to work out at.

Some of the types of reformers include:

• Professional Pilates reformer – This reformer is suitable for all kinds of people. Regardless of whether they are athletes, people rehabbing an injury or older adults, these reformers are all-encompassing. These reformers are usually easiest and most appropriate to use in a space that has been set aside for it alone. A Pilates reformer helps a user do hundreds of full-body exercises. This makes it an ideal piece of equipment for boutique studios or in-club Pilates studios.

• Rehab reformer – The rehab reformer is a Pilates reformer that is especially designed to help those who are trying to rehab from an injury. These reformers are situated higher off of the ground. This makes them easier to mount and dismount. Some reformers include retractable rope systems with recoil carriages. This helps to add a more thorough range of motion. It adds fluidity to exercises and provides more options for people who are using the Pilates reformer for short rehab stints.

• At-home reformers – This Pilates reformer is easy to store and use. They weigh around 100 pounds and are about nine feet long. They are easy to move thanks to the rollers on them. The rollers make it convenient for those users who have these reformers in their home. They can be moved in and out of a closet or other area when not in use. The upholstery can even be customized to match the décor of a home.
